The seminar will address the design of gear modifications with regard to noise excitation and load carrying capacity. First, seminar participants will learn about noise excitation mechanisms, the effects of elastic deformation on load carrying capacity, and various standard modifications. Next, practical examples will be used to design gear modifications for low noise and optimum load carrying capacity. With a suitable strategy, modifications can be designed that achieve both low noise and high load carrying capacity goals.
